Solani Aqueduct

Solani Aqueduct is a historic engineering structure built in the 19th century (1846) during British rule. It was constructed to carry the Upper Ganga Canal over the Solani River. At the time of its completion, it was considered one of the greatest engineering achievements in India.

Built under the supervision of British engineer Sir Proby Cautley.

Played a key role in the Ganga Canal irrigation project.

Closely connected to the history of engineering education in Roorkee.
