The IT Support Engineer acts as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues. This includes diagnosing problems, installing and configuring hardware/software, supporting network connectivity, and ensuring security compliance. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting abilities, customer service skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot system errors and ensure minimal downtime.
- Assist users with email setups, application access, and password resets.
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including networks and servers.
- Log support requests, track issues, and document solutions.
- Support software updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Set up new user accounts and ensure proper access permissions.
- Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve advanced issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Strong understanding of Windows/Mac operating systems.
- Knowledge of basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills
- Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, and endpoint security tools.
- Experience with system imaging, backups, and computer lifecycle management.
- Ability to handle multiple support requests efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
