With renovation works underway, authorities have suspended darshanams and sealed the temple premises. Although alternative arrangements were made at the nearby Bheemeshwara temple, several devotees gathered at the closed entrance of the main shrine and performed pujas there.

A 17-year-old boy, Vishwateja, son of Peddapalli Agriculture Market Committee chairperson Eerla Swaroopa, died by suicide in Bandampalli after reportedly being scolded by his parents. Vishwateja (17), was the son of Peddapalli Agriculture Market Committee chairperson, Eerla Swaroopa. He is suspected to have ended his life by jumping into an agricultural well on the outskirts of the village.According to police, Vishwateja had left home on Tuesday night and was found dead in the well the next morning. On learning about the incident, police reached the spot, retrieved the body, and shifted it to hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered based on a complaint from the parents. Investigation is underway.
