NIT Warangal opens applications for free GATE 2026 coaching

GATE 2026: The coaching is open to students pursuing BTech in any branch, from NIT Warangal or neighboring engineering institutes.The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has opened applications for its free Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) coaching programme. The free coaching organised under the SC-ST Cell is aimed at supporting students from NIT Warangal and other engineering colleges in and around Warangal. The GATE 2026 free coaching for eight weeks begins on November 17 and will run until January 9, 2026. According to an NIT Warangal statement, it will provide a structured schedule with classes held in the evenings from 5 pm to 9 pm, except on Sundays. Shaik Lateef has been supporting poor students for years, providing free rides and school supplies.Proving that one needs only a kind heart and not wealth to help others, an auto-rickshaw driver paid the SSC exam fees for 20 students of the Zilla Parishad High School at Siripuram KG village in Wyra mandal of the district. The driver and social worker, Shaik Lateef of the village, handed over Rs 2,500 to the school teachers through Wyra Sub-Inspector of Police Pushpala Rama Rao towards the exam fees.

Karimnagar: Teenager, upset over scolding by parents, dies by suicide

A 17-year-old boy, Vishwateja, son of Peddapalli Agriculture Market Committee chairperson Eerla Swaroopa, died by suicide in Bandampalli after reportedly being scolded by his parents. Police registered a case and launched an investigation.A teenager died by suicide in Bandampalli under Peddapalli municipal limits on Wednesday, reportedly upset after being scolded by his parents. Vishwateja (17), was the son of Peddapalli Agriculture Market Committee chairperson, Eerla Swaroopa. He is suspected to have ended his life by jumping into an agricultural well on the outskirts of the village.According to police, Vishwateja had left home on Tuesday night and was found dead in the well the next morning. On learning about the incident, police reached the spot, retrieved the body, and shifted it to hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered based on a complaint from the parents. Investigation is underway.

Jubilee Hills by-election sees disappointing voter turnout of just over 47 per cent

Polling in the Jubilee Hills by-election concluded with a modest turnout of 47.16 per cent on Tuesday. The new colour-coded ballot papers introduced for the first time drew positive feedback from voters for making the polling process clearer and easier The Jubilee Hills by-poll witnessed a voter turnout that was once again not impressive. On Tuesday, polling was held in 407 polling stations amid tight security, with the turnout recorded at 47.16 per cent till 5 pm. The voter turnout remained low right from when polling began at 7 am. This slow trend continued up to 10 am. By 9 am, the recorded turnout was 9.2 per cent. By 11 am, there was a slight increase as students and young office-goers cast their votes. Voters in residential colonies such as Vengal Rao Nagar, Madhura Nagar, Kalayn Nagar, Yousufguda, Mothi Nagar, Shaikpet and Borabanda areas actively took part in the polling.
