System Administrator

The System Administrator manages the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure systems run efficiently and securely. This includes server management, user account administration, backups, network monitoring, and resolving technical issues. The role requires hands-on expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to respond quickly to system-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network hardware.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
• Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Oversee data backups, disaster recovery procedures, and system recovery testing.
• Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.
• Ensure IT security compliance and protect systems from unauthorized access or malware.
• Provide technical support to employees for system or network issues.
• Document IT procedures, system configurations, and maintenance schedules.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Strong understanding of Windows/Linux server environments.
• Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools and backup solutions.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
